1. Introduction

Welcome to JapanETCcard.com. These Terms of Use (“Agreement”) govern your access to and use of our Website and Services (the “Service”). By using the Website or Service, you agree to these terms and to comply with all applicable Japanese laws and NEXCO regulations.

2. Definitions

2.1 Card Member

The individual or entity issued an ETC Card by JapanETCcard.

2.2 ETC Card

The electronic toll-collection card issued for use on the NEXCO highway network.

2.3 ETC System

The combination of on-board equipment and toll-gate infrastructure enabling automated toll payments.

2.4 Road Administrator

The authority designated under the Road Maintenance Special Measures Law responsible for toll road operation.

3. Eligibility & Card Issuance

  • User Agreement: Prospective Card Members must complete and sign the JapanETCcard User Agreement Form, which details card-use policies, responsibilities, and service terms.
  • Pricing & Fees: All toll and service fees are published on our Pricing Info page. By signing the User Agreement, you acknowledge and accept the current fee schedule.
  • Ownership & Non-Transferable: ETC Cards remain the property of JapanETCcard and may not be lent or transferred to third parties.

4. Proper Use

  • Installation: Insert the ETC Card into approved on-board equipment when passing toll gates; remove and store securely when not in use.
  • Vehicle Registration: Cards are issued for a primary vehicle. Use in alternate vehicles is permitted at your own risk—ensure compliance with NEXCO standards.
  • Information Updates: Promptly update any changes to your vehicle or personal details at JapanETCcard.com.

5. Fees & Billing

  • Monthly Charges: Toll fees will be billed monthly to the credit card on file.
  • Non-Refundable: All fees and charges are final and non-refundable.
  • Fee Changes: JapanETCcard reserves the right to revise fees; continued use implies acceptance.

6. Lost or Stolen Cards

  • Report Immediately: Notify JapanETCcard and the Road Administrator without delay.
  • Liability: You remain responsible for all charges until loss is reported.
  • Reissuance: Replacement cards may incur a fee and are subject to approval.

7. Suspension & Termination

JapanETCcard may suspend or terminate Service for violations of this Agreement, fraudulent activity, or non-payment. Suspended or terminated Card Members must immediately return or destroy their ETC Cards.

8. Limitation of Liability

JapanETCcard is not liable for disputes with the Road Administrator, equipment malfunctions, or any damages arising from third-party services.

9. Changes to This Agreement

We may update these Terms of Use at any time. Changes take effect upon posting to the Website. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

10. Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of Japan. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the Tokyo District Court.
